Yes, EDTA doesn't chelate mercury, only lead. And from my readings on the subject, people tend to "mess themselves up" more frequently using EDTA than DMSA or DMPS.

In addition, Cutler says to chelate mercury first and then other metals, including lead, for various reasons. Doing EDTA would do the opposite of what he believes works.

I guess I suppose you have to decide who you want to trust. Cutler has a great reputation though, other chelators... not so much. When and if I chelate (which will be in the next month), it will be following his protocols.
