Re: Amalgam Removal Done Wrong
My reply ended up in 3 of the 5 forums you cross-posted your post on, but not on the Cutler forum, which is where I answered it from. 5 places is alot of forums to cross-post. You might just try a couple of different ones next time.
I'll copy/paste it here.
I've heard enough "chelating nightmares" and long term problems that people end up with from chelating without knowing what they were doing (or trusting that Dr's, or ND's know what they are doing), that the most important thing you should do right now is nothing but reading, reading, reading.
The Andrew Cutler book "Amalgam Illness diagnosis and treatment" is well worth the money. Not only does it help a person understand better why he says to do the low dose, frequent chelating to keep the metals from coming out in big bunches like other protocals, but there is alot of good information in it about the liver functions, supplements, other metals besides mercury, and just general good information.
I was fortunate to have found one on ebay for $15, including shipping, but it generally sells for around $70. Well worth the money. Even when things sound confusing and don't make sense, it is important to have some understanding before starting anything like this.
There's one of his books on

Here's a post that Newport just gave again not too far down, for important information on the exact dosages/timing for the Cutler protocal.

Cutler doesn't get into it, but there are other things that go with the metals (pathogen type), and people have also found out when they've started chelating, that it also stirs up the pathogens, like Lyme disease that they didn't also know they had.
Just something else to be aware of. Newport is a good one to ask about how they all go together...but here's one of his back posts about it:
