Since about 1988 they have been "trying" to study calcium's role in potassium and sodium ion gates... the so called potassium-sodium pump, and have not been able to pin it down because the action is so fast.
In other words they have no idea how it works... there are a plethora of other calcium ion actions they cannot pin down due to the speed at which calcium ions act.
Makes sense given calcium's role in nerve impulses.,, which act, according to ML, and also according to these scientists studying calcium ion rolls as a mineral gate keeper for other mineral ions, at the speed of light.
This is the primary reason science has no idea... however, to their credit, they did find that calcium is involved.
There is a great deal they do not know about calcium yet due to the lightning fast actions of it... it is becoming more and more evident that calcium is the single most important mineral... you would not be able to do anything without it... breathe, move, think, etc.
And with most in this country drinking purified and filtered water, we have lost natural water as the best source of these free calcium "ions".
Before one goes out and jumps on calcium supplements... learn that form and bioavailability matters a great deal.
A little goes a long way...
A one to few tablespoonfuls of the limewater mixed with the acids in the alkalising drink is a very small dose of calcium, however extremely bioavailable.
A tablespoonful or two of limewater mixed with a food acid like ACV or lemon, is a homeopathic dose.
NOTE: Limewater is clear... milk of lime is when you shake the jar and have the solids suspended in solution.
You dose based on your needs... these days I most often use the limewater... and on occasion, if I feel it is needed will use milk of lime. I do ALWAYS adjust the drink to my tastes.
