Re: How long does it take to recover from Vertigo? (Cayenne pepper)
The background of why I put Cayenne Pepper in my ear in the first place was that I thought an eczema spot may be trying to start in the ear canal. I treat new developing eczema spots with some drops cayenne pepper tincture and Burt's Bees skin cream. That ususally eliminates the new spots.
But I had an itch about mid-way in my ear canal for a couple of days. So I dipped a cotton swab in cayenne pepper tincture (made with Habanero) but there was only the mash of the pepper on the bottom (!). I then dipped it in tree tea oil to lessen the sting of the cayenne pepper without affecting it's healing work. I knew by putting it in the ear that I would feel the cayenne pepper and I did experience a 10-minute ear ache. And that was that until a couple of days later when I experienced the vertigo. I hadn't expected that the cayenne would actually cause *swelling* inside the ear and affect my balance. I guess having the mash of the pepper on the cotton swab only made it hotter than straight tincture.
A poster on another health forum suggested the Arnica homeopathic pills due to its purported ability to douse inflammation. Arnica can't be taken internally except in homeopathic form or in highly diluted form.
I did not have vertigo or dizzyness before the cayenne pepper episode, just an itch in the ear canal. It could have been caused by my hearing aid but I had a rash of new eczema spots so I thought a bit of cayenne was what was needed for that itch in the ear. I'd give anything to take it back!
So I was just asking if anyone had experienced vertigo/dizzyness before and how long it took for them to get over it. Perhaps my experience is too unique. I was stupid enough to not be conscientious of what I was doing.
