Re: Aaaawwwww...Re: Confused about Pregnancy Supplements/morning sickness,etc.
I've had three pregnancies with hyperememsis gravidarum and I've used medications, hospitals & IV's at home to get through it. I've tried so hard to clean up my eating & body to prepare for this one and I just knew it was going to be different. Well, I'm only 6 weeks along so we'll see how it turns out, but so far it's not going well. All those green smoothies I've been drinking these past months are now making me sick. There are a few that are mostly fruity that I can drink a little of, but I haven't been able to get much down. I've resorted to the SuperFood Plus capsules because I cannot get any powders in and I've been taking less than I need I know. They still gag me, but they are doable.
I've talked with several women who've used milk thistle successfully to combat morning sickness and that was the main thing I was trying this time. My problem was I need a large dose because this "one capsule three times a day" does nothing for me. I switched to milk thistle seed powder (I'm putting it in capsules to get it down) and am taking the amount that will help, whatever that happens to be that day. I hope I'm not overdoing it on the milk thistle, but I figure it must be safer than zofran, phenergen, hospitals & IV's.
I've never heard of herbal suppositories for hyperemesis and would be interested in more information.
I also didn't know that lobelia was ok to use for the heaves. How does that work? Can it be used for severe nausea also?
I will have to get some of Uny's Herbal Calcium. At least it's a liquid and should go down a little easier.
Last time the sickness got severe around 7 weeks, so I'm doing anything I can to keep it at bay. My babies have also been big & healthy despite the morning sickness. Perhaps I made up for it when I finally could eat.
Thanks for your help!
