Wanted to share a bit on Garlic's healing powers.

Hi all,

Two years ago I thought I had Candida and my son bought me this book "Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook". If anyone here has Candida, I would definitely recommend this book.

Anyway, it had this great section on raw garlic:

One of the most powerful everyday foods is garlic. Less beneficial when cooked. Eaten raw, it provides positive healing reactions. During colds, flus, or Candida problems, raw garlic, chewed, kills bacteria and fungi in the mouth and throat. This can be easily accomplished by adding raw garlic to a salad or salad dressing. Raw garlic can be added to receipes like cheese spread, bean dip, soup or main dishes. Or, garlic can be chewed all by itself and the pulp spit out.

One potent method of taking garlic is to eat it raw without chewing it. Take one medium clove of garlic and chop or mince it very finely. Do not press or crush it. This releases the precious juice, which contains healing allicin. Allicin is the essential element in garlic oil, responsible for the healing properties of garlic that give it antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities. Garlic also helps to normalize blood sugar.

Never take raw garlic this way on an empty stomach. Halfway through a regular meal, take chopped garlic on a spoon and put it on the back of your tongue. Wash it down with water, without chewing, so the precious juice remains in the garlic until it reaches the small intestines, where it can do the most good killing Candida and other parasites. Take one to three cloves daily for one to three months. Do not exceed this time period as overextended use of garlic can contribute to garlic sensitivities or allergies and anemia.

Its array of benefits is staggering. For starters, it boosts immune function, favorably modifying the course of almost any infectious disease. It lowers high blood Sugar and might increase the body’s metabolism enough to promote weight loss. Big doses of the extract may even help to prevent cancer.

Garlic’s most exciting use,is in cutting back the risk of heart disease. It lowers cholesterol, prevents blood fats from sticking to artery walls, and reduces high blood pressure. It also inhibits the body’s release of thromboxane B2, a substance that constricts blood vessels and bronchial passages.

So, I just wanted to share this. Garlic is so good for us in so many ways.
