So glad I found out about you!!
Hi. I apologize if I am asking things that have already been talked about a lot. I just found an article elsewhere on iodine, and it seems to be connected to almost every one of my health problems, and I am just so excited! - (to know there is a possible cause!). My whole family has suffered from various health problems also, that seem to be loosely related to mine. Before i go into my list, I'll also say we usually test low in either sodium,
Iodine or potassium. (I am 34- feel 60)
(i have questions following this, so please bear with me :) )
- Hypothyroidism (from a goiter and half of thyroid being moved when I was 12)
- Type 1 diabetes
- fibrocystic breasts
- infertility (although i have a 12 year old son with the help of Clomid)
- unable to control weight
- constant swelling/ hardness inlegs and feet
- nerve damage
- get dehydrated a lot
- scarred, weak lungs- not nec. related
- heavy breaking out on arms and chest
and other minor things.
Could all this be connected to something as simple as sodium? Where would the reliable places to get information be? Anything I've read says supplementing can be dangerous. Are there any studies I could participate in?
Oh, I don't know why, but thinking of supplementing, makes me think I'll swell up like a balloon. I have always had trouble with severe bloating- like 15
lbs. at times or more, and I am terrified
Iodine would make it worse.
If there is somewhere else I should be asking this stuff, please just give me the word.
I am just grasping for straws at this point. I am a single mom, with a son to raise, and am losing the feeling in my hands and one of my legs and am so week along with this other stuff. I have to get myself together for him. But I go to a government hospital and cannot choose my doctor and she is very afainst anything other than the old fashioned by the book stuff.
I deeply appreciate any help and advice
Thankyou so much!
