Doryx is the Antibiotic the dermotologist put me on. He said it's not an infection or anything, just that this particular Antibiotic has specific anti-inflammatory properties that have been known to be effective on perioral dermatitis. It's been appx 3 months and while the redness is gone, the skin still seems affected. It itches now more than it ever did, and gets dry and flakey easily. I can see bumps underneath the skin, not like whiteheads or anything but looks a little like chicken skin. The doc said that I very well could be on the stuff for a year, possibly more. We'll see.
