What I would also do is pick up some Fulvic Acid and keep it on hand for her. You can get a 32 oz bottle inexpensively at

It is a great antioxidant as well as detoxifier - though I don't know how effective it is against heavy metals.
It was found very effective in Chinese tests recently against chronic lung disorders.
I would also look into any herb and nutrient that is known for it's anti-inflammatory benefits.
