Centrifugal? Looks like it :( :( :( (+edit)Re: The new Omega Juicer (Omega Vert)
I've just done a VERY quick check, since this obviously appears to be a centrifugal juicer. And it is.
Apparently it runs slower than a typical centrifugal juicer (which is good - less heat = less killing of enzymes), but the spinning action also kills enzymes (enzymes = one of the main reasons for juicing).
And typical centrifugal juicers have FAR less yield "per pound of produce" and they are EXTREMELY ineffective for extracting the minerals/vitamins from the pulp. (Edit - I realize this juicer also somehow masticates, which would increase yield).
Until more studies & comparisons are published (or we all have time to do more research on what is already published), I would not recommend this juicer.
Besides, why would want to spent over $100 more for this than an Omega 8003/8005/8006, and not be able to make nut-butters, extrude pasta and all the other wonderful options?
Btw, I can break down, rinse/clean and reassemble my Omega 8005 in less than 60 seconds.
Blessings,
Uny
