My UNcle who lived with my parents had this radio. It might have cost $65 back then which was a quite a lot. I carried it around stuck to my ear between 1960-64. Back then I think they came out with a catchy new tune about twice a week, just as you were starting to get tired of the one that was 3 days old. He had a rubber moon ball on a nice wood stand he made. It was about 9 inches in diameter.
Amazing thing was there was just some words printed on the far side. NO ONE had yet seen it!
He worked at Gruman on the LEM,LUnar Excursion MOdule and he got liver cancer and died at 58.
