I happened across this post, and I likely have no idea what I am talking about... but no way would I ever store anything in plastic, if it was the last plastic on earth. Use glass for Pete's sake. One can get 12 quart mason jars with lids for $8 or a little more. Storing any liquid for any length of time that is for human consumption, in plastic, is just plain nuts in my not so educated opinion.
