Safety issues of plastic containers (HDPE, PET, PETE, LDPE, PP)

What's your opinion about the safety of plastic containers? I recently read the following article and wondering what you will comment on it.

I'm worried because many organic virgin coconut oils come in HDPE plastic container. I heard many harmful toxins mimicking hormones are fat-soluble, so the toxins in plastic container leach into oil? Or is it OK unless the plastic is heated? Is HDPE always OK?
