It may or may not be simply a convenient generalization that both the seasonal flu and swine flu share exactly the same symptoms.

A distinguishing characteristic of swine flu might (or not) only be noticed in the blood and the severity of a certain symptom. So far, the swine flu hasn't been reported as being more deadly than the seasonal flu (maybe the only real difference is the origin of infection?), but we shouldn't really expect things to stay the same (mutations are likely).

The best overall defense against all diseases is a strengthened immune system.

Reportedly, vitamin D3 will prevent the illness.

pH balance should also help, but if that interferes with any other vitamin supplements can only be speculated and may be a "tradeoff".
