Okay I've got to step in here and have my say.  I've been watching this thread and haven't commented but I've got to now.

I haven't read through JM's posts but I have read many of his posts pre and post election and I've never seen where he stated that he hires illegal mexican labor.

I don't know why it would be obvious that he hires illegals just because he's been boasting about how great they work.  In my part of the country there are many mexican workers that are here on visas.  I wouldn't have one problem finding several mexicans tomorrow to work for me that are here legally.  I live in the nursery belt and mexicans come over here on visas to work for months at a time then they go back.

I am also self employed, I have a construction and design company and I understand what he's saying.  I pay a very generous wage but I in turn I expect for my employees to give me a full days worth of work.  I've come on one of my job sites and seen guys sitting down on my time, not their break time or lunch time but on MY time that I'm paying them for.  I don't keep those workers if it happens more than twice because that means I can't trust them and if I can't trust them they have no business on my jobsite.

Like with anything in this life I expect to get what I pay for and nothing less.  I will hire whoever is qualified to do the job regardless of the color of their skin providing they are legal but I do NOT look for cheaper labor from the mexicans, they get paid according to their qualifications and thats it.  

I do have loyal employees who have worked for me for years and I would never get rid of them and replace them with someone who I could pay less but I expect them to WORK for that pay.  After all when I was working for someone else many years ago I worked and showed I was an asset to that employer and that I could make his business grow. I was worth every dime I got paid because I worked for it.

All that being said I do have to be honest and say that if I had a white guy and a mexican guy on a work visa with the same qualifications wanting the same job I would hire the white guy every time, the citizen of the United States.  But thats just me.
