Re: Has anyone had success with ARNICA for hairloss and regrowth?
Ac.flour, Pilocarpus, Lycopodium, Phos, Natrum mur are some of the Homeopathic remedies other than Arnica which are helpful in stopping hair loss and regrowth provided that the hair fall is not hereditary.

HAIRFALL & HOMOEOPATHY:
“It is really distressing, sad”, “I am depressed”, “My opportunities have decreased”, “It has ruined me”. These signs of anguish are not from those on a life threatening disease, nor from a cricket fan’s disappointment at another Indian batting collapse on a green wicket. It is because of hair fall. As far as health is concerned they may not mean much but for a social meeting and a sense of beauty and pride they are simply the ‘crowning glory’. If not anything the lustrous hair are a source of ‘feel good’ factor.
WHAT IS ALOPECIA OR HAIR FALL?
The loss of hair from the portions of the body predominantly the scalp is called as Alopecia or hairfall.
It is a matter of concern for both men and women of all ages.
The three prominent causes are heredity, hormones and age.
The density of hair starts to thing after the late forties and into the fifties.
Baldness could be inherited. If your extended family photograph shows more the skin of the scalp, it is likely that you may develop it too.
It can also be due to hormones. Testesterone is the one which gets blocked in the hair follicle depriving it of the nutrition and leading to its fall.
In women post menopause could be the time for hair fall.
It could also be due to
Seborrhea or dandruff, infections of the scalp, nutritional deficiencies or iron, folic acid, Vitamin C. During periods of illness like typhoid fever, stress, illness, chemotherapy etc. too there could be significant hair fall.
Male type of baldness leads to loss of hair from the temples which later spreads to the top of the head.
In women the loss of hair is more generalized and all over the scalp though the margins are more affected.
DO’S AND DON’TS:
People with dry ends of hair should apply hair oil regularly.
Shampooing should be done atleast twice a week and I case of oily skin even thrice.
Hair wash does not increase hair fall but the way it is scrubbed with pressure and dried with hot air worsens the hair fall.
Physical stress of the hair like tight braiding and tight rolling and combing with narrow toothed combs can cause hair fall.
Application of gels and chemical colors can also cause this.
Certain hair styles and treatment can cause root damage.
The quality of hair also sometimes reflects your nutritional status. Foods that are rich in iron and essential amino acids like eggs, dark green leafy vegetables, beans, lentils, lean red meat, fish and low fat cheese are all rich in nutrients good for the strength of the hair follicle and maintaining growth of hair.
Anxiety and stress also lead to increase of hormones and thereby hair fall. Be calm, cool and relaxed.
WHAT CAN HOMOEOPATHY DO?
Homoeopathy has good remedies to treat various causes of hair fall.
In male type of baldness which is hereditary it can see that the hair fall is not so pronounced and hurried.
In case of hormonal imbalance it can see that the sebum in the hair follicle does not get blocked and reduces the fall of hair.
In case of nutritional deficiencies it can help in assimilation of iron with folic acid and thereby cure hair fall.
In cases where there has been a pull or chemical damage to the hair it can replenish the scalp with circulation thereby improving growth of hair.
Seborrhoea or dandruff, infections of the scalp can be gotten rid off and improve hair growth.
