It is known as nutritional yeast at the health food store. Brewers yeast is nutritional yeast that has been used over and over in making beer until it doesn't work for beer any more. then they dry it and sell it as Brewers yeast. The health food store nutritional yeast (Red Star is a well-known brand) has not been processed through beer or other.
