Use love. Send loving thoughts to the nagging boss. Send loving thoughts to your coworkers who are grumbling and complaining and employ NLP techniques around people's whose speech is very negative. An example of NLP: the idea is to stop the flow of their energy into your mind and to reframe their speech to you.

You: It's a nice day today!
Coworker: It's raining and I don't feel well
You: Oh. (You say OH because it sounds like NO to your own mind negating that negative thought they tried to send to your mind) I love the way the rain smells and it makes for such pretty flowers (bring it into the positive.)

Coworker: I think Janice took credit for some of my work.
You: Oh. I like the way Janice prepared the reports last week.
Coworker: Yeah, but I think she stole my work.
You: Oh. She IS always on time to work and she makes the best coffee out of anyone in the office.

Coworker: yes, but why are you ignoring the fact she stole my work?
You: Oh. I'm not ignoring you. I just feel that there are so many great things to talk about regarding Janice. I prefer to talk about the great things about her. Possibly talking to her about any issue you have would be best.

If you go on like this only 1 of 2 things can happen. One, the person will change their tone to a more positive one to match your energy or they will tire of trying to bring you down w/ negativity and will stop talking to you : ).
