I would not say that it is about politics because our two party system is pretty much a shame that plays lip service and word games but serves the same masters.  To me, it is more about further increasing federal government control and further limiting our freedoms and it is clearly unconstitutional, despite the excuse that it is "promoting the general welfare" - which was really a clause that reinforced the limited duty of a weak federal government to help protect our freedoms and property and help smooth relations and trade among the various states.  Nowhere was it ever intended for the Federal government to dictate to the states, or for government to feed, clothe, house, educate and determine how we addressed our own private health issues.

Our forefathers founded this country with the intention of the states and individuals being sovereing and the federal government as a weak tool with clearly defined limitations.  Quite aside from the wrongness of slavery, when the states were in effect told that they were no longer sovereign and were stuck forever in what was supposed to be a volutary confederation it started a long erosion of states rights and growth in federal powers that has continued unabated and gathered steam until this very day until we are now at the point where the same global elite control both of parties at the top and virtually all the key players, as well as viable candidates, are CFR members, trilateral members, and/or Bilderburg approved.  We the people have by and large become we the chattel for the super rich and global elite.
