Yes, I vote. I would not vote for
this bill.

I have written my congressmen and
woman on many issues. I no longer
have faith in the system. For example,
the stimulus legislation was trash
and Congress voted on it, for the
most part, without reading it. The
Obama would like US to pass this
bill without Congress reading it
either. I would like to see Congress
read it, debate it, define it, refine
it, and then come up with something
which would be for Americans and not
for something which would encourage
even MORE illegal immigration.

Look at California and see what
turning the other cheek has done
for the public dole. I know the cost
of health care is high. I am paying
just literally under a grand for a
three hour wait in the emergency room
for a tetanus shot. But, just like
the housing and loan mess where the
government said they would cover the
loans, and so the banks gave loans
away to anyone who was interested,
knowing the government would be
obligated to cover them, I do not
trust that our government will
consider someone like me who puts
a higher premium on preventative
care. I rarely use the system and
obviously the time I did, I am
paying for it dearly. I opted years
ago when the cost of insurance
premiums skyrocketed to save my
money and invest in myself relative
to gaining and maintaining health.
I pay my way otherwise and find also
that doctors generally would prefer
you have insurance so they can pad
the bill. All in all, there is a
huge stink in the way our health
system is set up and running. Still,
it will take longer than the time
and attention given this bill to
get it anywhere near right and
worthy of passing.

As for being pro-active, I posted
the bill here for people to read.
I think raising awareness is something
we need more of. The mainstream media
is not making it a priority. They are
more an entertainment outlet anymore
than a source of news.

So, are you basically disagreeing
with me that the bill as it is presented
is not worth swallowing??

I am a citizen, and my father and
brothers are veterans, and my mother
spent her entire work career as a
civil servant. I definitely am
interested in politics and the direction
Obama and his cohorts are taking our
country...
