Re: Living Water
Hi Ren,
I am on the evil tap water as well, because I do not have other options except for bottled water. Bottled water is evil in it own class, because it contains volatile organic compounds leeching from the bottles.
But I at least filter the tap water in a hope that I would get out chlorides and fluorides.
Just as a curiosity, chlorine gas will not nibble at 304 stainless, but chlorides will. Chlorides will not nibble all that much at 304 stainless when the solution like sea water flows around it, but it will eat holes into it quite fast when it stands still.
Drinking the very weak HydroCloric acid (HCl), which is tap water, is not such a big deal. Our stomachs contain it in a much higher concentration. But the chlorides are a different story. The fluorides are generally more aggressive than chlorides and some will pit even glass.
Breathing the chlorine gas lets say in a shower is a bitch though, unless you want to kill your pet pneumonia and yourself in one go.
You might do yourself a service to at least filter off whatever you can with an activated carbon filter.
With kind regards, Slavek
