Re: Moreless Is also right on about iodine.
If one suspects they need iodine, and most would, however they have no immediate health concern, I would find the cleanest seaweeds possible to incorporate into my diet somehow... even the seaweeds with a rather "low"
Iodine content, such as dulse, can easily exceed
Iodine (and other trace minerals) RDA daily.
A safe adjunct IMO, if one felt more need, would be to follow the protocols of either Dr. Jarvis, or
Edgar Cayce .
Jarvis recommended one to two drops, depending upon size/weight, of
Lugol's in a glass of water along with a bit of ACV twice a week; more frequently when in cold and flu seasons.

Cayce recommended a specific iodine, atomidine (unfortunately there were two different interpretations for what this is/was) and a periodic protocol that tapered up and pack down with a period of rest.
-- do your own research on the Cayce protocols, it varied some dependent upon the individual readings.
Anyone doing a protocol for medical reasons, unless absolutely sure of their condition, AND all other tests indicate need, should have a loading test done as V suggests before embarking and then should be monitored IMO.
I think there are enough
Iodine doctors spread out across the U.S. now that one could be found relatively close enough to most people.
I believe my post from a few yeas back can still be found where I was peeing out much more iodine than I was taking in at one point... obviously after years of eating seaweeds, and nearly annual, sometimes bi-annual use of the Cayce iodine protocol and then some high dosing (before I had the test), I was about as saturated as I was going to get.
Seaweeds and maintenance dosing now is all I will most likely ever do. Probably somewhere between 2 and 8 mg a day, with the bulk of it (most times exclusively, unless on a trip) on any given day as food.
There is always using kelp to turn into your garden soils too.
