Crazy? No... Re: I'm ordering today. Last question about tinctures
...but you need to research and know what you're using & why.
AND, keep a careful watch on how much alcohol you're ingesting...and be sure to neutralize/evaporate the alcohol by splashing the tincture dose with boiling water - last paragraph here:

That's quite a list, Solmare - I think you're a LOT like me when I first started. I wanted a stockpile of EVERYTHING (and to try them all).
Can you 'do harm' with any of the tinctures? Yes, if not used responsibly (and some, carefully), you could. For instance, bloodroot is caustic (it is used, mixed with other herbs & products) to burn off/away tumors & skin growths....and it definitely can/will cause skin damage. It has a lot of side-effects if taken internally (or used externally) and I don't suggest it unless one seriously knows what they are doing.
Kola nut contains a lot of caffeine - it's a great assist for getting off coffee. (It's in the Brain Formula, too). But hey, it's caffeine - and it can be abused, no matter how pure & organic it is. I'm not going to "lie by omission" here - over the last 3 months there's been several nights/days when I've used 2-3 droppersful...it gives you energy and helps you to think more clearly (and probably raises blood glucose slightly...just like coffee). But, it doesn't 'feel' like "coffee caffeine" - it seems milder/gentler somehow. For me (ex coffee addict) it does NOT trigger the desire for more...but that's me, and I'm EXTREMELY cautious and self-aware of the way various chemicals (natural or otherwise) affect my brain & body (remember, I was seriously depressed for 15+ years).
Can you 'mix & match' herbs? Generally speaking, many are just as safe as mixing various foods...no one ever worries if they can mix junk food, white
Sugar & beer with a late-nite run to Taco Bell (gross). BUT, one should know what they're taking and why...and if the benefits/attributes are conflicting.
For example, it'd be stupid to take the calming/sedative herbs with Kola Nut.
These are "food" in other countries (or have been in the past/currently here):
Burdock
Hawthorn
Black Pepper
Burdock
Wild Lettuce
These are commonly classified as 'edible plants' (for those people who 'forage' or want 'edible landscaping'):
Chickweed
Red Clover
Ginkgo (main ingredient in Brain Formula)
Mullein Leaf
>>>Does it make sense to order other tinctures on top of those that you suggested?<<< Well, it certainly makes sense in the regards of saving on shipping costs :)
Finally, to answer this: >>>>Should we only take those tinctures that you suggested, or is what you suggested the minimum and taking other tinctures on top of your suggestion is even more beneficial. For example, if I take your Brain Formula, although I don't have any brain issues, will I (in general) do harm, do nothing or do good with it?<<<<
-- No one should EVER take ANYTHING I "suggest" (or anybody else suggests) without researching and learning about it, and deciding if they should take it for themselves :)
-- There's no reason to take herbs you don't need - but then again, we all eat foods we don't need :::grin::: Surprisingly, you may find that (with things like the Brain Formula, St. John's Wort, well actually, any of them) that they give you benefits that you didn't know you needed or wanted.
-- Research them, and see what qualities they have to ensure they don't 'counteract qualities' (again, taking stimulant herbs/blends at the same time as sedative herbs/blends is silly). Other than that, I don't immediately recognize any major conflicts on your list.
-- I think (for those that can afford it, and have the desire) that this is a very good way to actually learn what each herb does. I test EVERY tincture we have, whether I need it or not. And since I know that you're planning on becoming an 'herbalist', this is a good opportunity to start learning. However, I wouldn't be doing a LOT of experimenting and 'taste testing' until I'd gotten far enough into your IP that you can sense what each herb is doing :) I don't think you likely want to be 'playing around' with the sedative/stimulant herbs...unless you need one or the other and you're just trying to figure out which one works best for you.
I'm SO excited about you & your IP - I can hardly wait to get your order (by the way, I just sent you an email - please don't order until you've had a chance to read it).
HEAL ON, SOLMARE!
