80 proof or 190 proof alcohol for making tincture and the ratio

btw got some question for making tincture

any one can explain the difference between vodka 80 proof vs Everclear (190 proof)?

correct me if i am wrong

vodka 80 proof

pro : not flammable (at least need heated 1st then flame) easier to store

cons : dissolve the herbs slower than 190 proof

190 proof

pro : dissolve the herbs better than 80 proof

cons : much difficult to store

another question abt ratio for tincture

i saw some mention 1 part herb : 4 parts alcohol

i feel this tincture bit "light" or "thin" becos of economical aspect, just my feeling

when making tincture for ourselves i tend to search the "sweet spot" which i confuse

i saw Uny use 3/4 herbs 1/4 alkohol

what is the meaning of this?

if we using 24 oz jar meaning use 18 oz blendered herbs then only 6 oz of alcohol?
if yes do the alcohol will become too "dense" so not efectively pull all the chemical from the herbs?
i feel like that, but since i never make any tincture that's why i need some 1 to enlighten me :)

or when using 24 oz jar, use 18 oz herbs then fill all the way to near to make near 24 oz?

any info will greatly appreciated ;)
