Kathy's Corner - Remembering
REMEMBERING
I remember as a little girl
Picking daisies in a field
Wondering where I’d someday be
And what would become of me.
Now I’m old and grown and gray
Spending my days watching the kids at play
Remembering the years that have gone before
And wondering what’s still left in store.
Yes, there are regrets, things I cannot change
Nothing and no one ever remains the same.
I’d love to relive, redo, repeat
Who wouldn’t? (Though I’ll not admit defeat.)
Life comes full circle and we go on
To savor the sunsets, to relish the dawn
To make amends for past mistakes
To look ahead to each new day
The future for me is almost gone
Life is simply a matter of staying strong,
But the memories of the past linger on
Life has a way of keeping us young.
