In answer to the question of how to clean your face with tcp, just dab neat tcp to a pad kitchin roll or tissue, then rub it on the face paying close attention to the affected areas. you may have to dab more onto the pad or use a fresh pad but don't worry, you shouldn't need to use too much though, remember you're not bathing in it ;)

Leave it on your face a few minutes before washing off with fresh water, so long as you kept the top off the bottle and flushed the pad when you finished with it there should be very little tcp smell around now and it should soon go when you go into another room or open a window, it doesn't stick around like Vinegar (which to my mind smells a little too much like urine).

Don't dry with a cloth towel or flannel though as these can be breeding grounds for the yeast that causes the problems in the first place.
