--Water--Duh!--

Hi Ya'll,

When folks Lack the Basic understanding about pH it is easy to see Why so many folks may be mis-lead by supposed Experts.

Take for example Water: The formula for water is H2O.

H is Hydrogen(Acid) and O is Oxygen(Alkaline).

Thus water has two parts of Hydrogen to one part of Oxygen.

Hydrogen is what may give a compound it's Acid potential.

The Greater the amount of Hydrogen may mean a Greater Acid Potential.

Yet, we use water every day and do not get an Acid Burn from it.

Could this be Why we genarally may Fail to understand about Acids?

Now let us consider placing a metal made of iron out in the weather or in distilled water, and if left long enough it may start to rust.

Why would it Rust, unless there was a Acid reacting with it to cause the release of Energy, thus causing Rust to appear?

Now if the container has Zinc added as a coating, because Zinc is Very Alkalizing and can Neutralize Many Acids, the container may last a long time before starting to Rust?

Why do you think Zinc is used in Battleship paint, but to protect the Iron from Rusting!

So, are we able to see that the water may be a weak Acid because of the Hydrogen attached to the Oxygen?

For those who know about the Grave yards out west for surplus Airplanes, did you know Why these Grave yards are out West and not somewhere else?

These areas have Very Low Humidity and Very little rain, thus Very Low Hydrogen, or may we say Very Low Acidity to cause Corrosion of metal parts.

Thus these Grave yard areas may keep Surplus Airplanes in Good shape.

As usual not everything may be as it may 1st seem to be!

Smile Tis your choice.
