Re: does Rifampin work against protozoa?
Hi M99!
Thanks a lot for the good information.
WE have done quite a lot of tests for worms, intracellular bacteria, viruses, but only for a few protozoas.
I am completely checked for autoimmune and rheumatoid dissorders.
I had a positive antigen test for lamblia 2 times over a period of 2 years.
But lamblia was never found in several biopsies and stool.
That is why we think it could be a very similar pathogen which triggers the antigen response.
We really don t know which pathogen produces the ige reaction.
It all came after a trip to turkey in 2003. From one day to the other.
I have bartonella, chlamydia pneumoniae, enterovirus, lamblia,(all been treated)
My symptoms are permanent unformed stools, malaise, tachycardia etc.
Since I have also babesia specific symptoms we think it could be babs. (Air hunger, drenching night sweats, muscle pain)
What has helped me so far:
- Gatifloxacin (in the beginning ) good response
- Clindamycin (major herx then feeling much better)
- Metronidazole (feeling better under it)
- Atzi/Rifa/Tini (decreases IGE significantly)
Because of the unformed stools I am not sure if the gut is the target organ of infection ? I ve heard people having babesia - also have diarrhea.
And can worms also trigger diarrhea ?
Since I have never tried pratzi in a sufficient dose - this is our next plan.
After that maybee malarone or mepron with atzi.+ artemisisnin.
What tests would you consider?
And what single drug do you mean?
Yes I am from Germany/Hamburg.
Thank you very much in advance
