Y'all, I have a confession to make. I hate to exercise. There. I said it.
But on the IP I'm supposed to do it 3 times a day. Bleh. Yoga is awesome. You stretch and you breathe and you do your best to become a human pretzel and it's so cool. Dancing is just plain fun, especially if there's nobody there to laugh at you. When I was in college I took Tai Kwon Do classes and that was a blast. Keee-yah! But ::deep voice:: "regular exercise"? Where you sweat and stuff? Yuck.
Anyway, my body is really starting to respond to the great cleansing and herbal therapies I've been doing, and I HAVE to work out now. My entire family runs, and have all encouraged me to do the http://www.coolrunning.com
Couch to 5K program. That's how they all got started running, and some of them are training for a half marathon this fall. I just looked at the program a few minutes ago, and it just looked too challenging for me. It's supposed to get you to a 5K (3 miles) run in 5 weeks. It says you can go slower, but right off the bat it has you jogging, and I can't run. Even with my walker I can't run or jog. So I got discouraged.
I prayed- Lord, I want so bad to just be "normal." But You know I'm doing good just to be walking.... Walking! A lot of people just walk!
So I did a quick search and found... The Walking Site! http://www.thewalkingsite.com
And guess what- you can WALK a marathon. I nearly cried. Because one of my "things" to say I have beaten this disease is to do a marathon.
Well, that is certainly a long way off, so I went to the beginner's page. They have a deal where you walk every day and in 12 weeks you walk for an hour. Now that sounds doable, even for me. Here's the link: http://www.thewalkingsite.com/12week.html
This program starts out with "On Day 1, your goal is to actually walk out your front door, walk down your street for 5 minutes, and turn around and come back." That is probably the hardest day on the program.
OK, so I want to instigate a new program, just like we started Tincture Parties (oh btw- Monday is the new moon), Trashing Saturdays (there's still time today if you haven't trashed something today!), and the Got Garlic t-shirt. And this is, of course, Wing Walking!!!
OK, Uny, you can do that when you go flying next weekend 8-0
Let's make our first goal a "Mile In The Morning!" Our theme song? What else? lol
