Gambling may range from having an occasional flutter, to a severe addiction that may lead some people to sell their family home to cover a gambling debt. Gambling like alcoholism or any other form of addiction can ruin personal relationships and may affect people closely associated with gamblers. Yet gambling - seen as a physiological disease - can be treated once we understand the underlying biochemical underpinnings that drive people to gamble. It is not very well know that gambling is often a cover-up for an underlying depressive illness that stops a person from achieving their full potential.
