Re: losing 20 pounds... Yes, I did a three-day juice fast with the front and back-end salad only days. This was for the five-day Kidney "flush" (or is that "cleanse"). I found that I didn't especially miss meat, so I decided I wouldn't eat any until I felt like it. I still don't feel like it. I had a few eggs at first, but have discontinued those. Sunday evenings with vegetarian spaghetti, I usually have a small bit of cheese.

I've also did the IF #2 through that week, and have done two other weeks, and am about to to a ten day episode. Have been using IF#1 throughout.

For those who are interested, I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have decided to just "up" and quit meat. I was amazed at how after a couple days I didn't feel very hungry on the juice fast and didn't miss meat. I've also tried losing weight several times over the years and have usually lost and got it back eventually. This time, as there is no "diet" involved, and I won't be eating meat, the weight should stay off. However, I really need to get to the gym regularly. I have a membership. We'll see.

My theory on this: if you eat meat, you're gonna eat MORE meat. If you eat vegetables, you'll eat more vegetables. Eating MORE meat will probably make you fatter. Eating more vegetables won't.
