After trying numerous times with the water I distilled myself (with the same results), I removed the filter of the distiller, so only condensed steam would come out.
Oddly enough, this water made the Puppy go for about 1½ hours before the lamp switched off (again on Auto & SWAP mode).
In theory, this water should have been less pure than the other water I used.

Carbon filters do remove chemicals that a distiller won't but they also contaminate the water increasing conductivity. I would only use a filter before you use the steam distiller and not after. I don't use the carbon filter in my small distiller. Tweet
