Question for anyone and everyone, please.

My mother just called me after speaking to my old medical doctor in another state. She informed my doctor of my daily use of enemas [I'm having trouble with bowel movement] and my doctor FORBADE me to use them again. The doctor exclaimed that I'm damaging the muscles in the rectum, and that soon my movements won't function correctly anyway.. as in I'll have extreme diarrhea and I won't be able to stop. She said the muscle will become 'confused'. Now, I'm only a little worried, because even before I heard that warning, lately I've been feeling as if I have to 'go' [without success] .. a constant, loose bowel feeling where I have to rush to the bathroom THEN. I don't enjoy enemas, and salt flushes hurt terribly... First, can what the doctor warn truly happen, and if it did happen, can it be fixed? Second, are there alternatives to getting bowel movements again without use of enema?
