Another "enlightened" response from my OBGYN.
I spoke with an Lcsw yesterday regarding the anxiety and
Depression I have been experiencing. She suggested that some of my symptoms could be indications of early menopause. She also suggested that I have my hormones tested and explained that it is just a simple blood test. Would you please order this test and any ohters you think would be helpful in determining hormonal imbalance?
Thank you,

Her response.
The only hormones I can check are the hormones related to ovarian function. If you are having regular periods every 3 to 5 weeks, your ovaries are working just fine and this is not related to "early menopause".

My response.
Since I had the Mirena; I was not having regular periods. I had it removed on 5/4 and bled heavily with large black clots and a lot of cramps. I have yet to have another period. Would the hormones that you can test relating to ovarian function give any indication of hormonal imbalance or early menopause?

Her response.
The reason you were not having periods it's because the hormone released by the IUD thins out the lining of the uterus over time. Once you have the IUD removed, it takes 6-8 wks (on average) to build the lining back up and start having regular periods. Why do you think you are in menopause?
