Re: Fountain syringe and air
Hi pj, don't worry about the air, that's not a problem. Trust me on this. Having administered many many enemas using clear or amber tubing with an enema can, and also with clear disposable enema bags, as the bag or bucket empties the water never goes down more than about half the way through the tubing.
In fact, if you don't clamp off the shutoff immediately after the bag is empty, with clear tubing you can observe the water level in the tubing rise and fall as the client breathes, and if a cramp should occur, the water will actually back up into the container. This is called a reflux, and is a major reason why you should never share your personal enema bag with another family member, and why it is so important to clean it after every use.
But don't worry about getting air into your colon from a fountain syringe enema. Where this often happens is with a parent giving an enema to a child with a bulb syringe, and not eliminating all the air from the bulb before squeezing. The air causes discomfort and cramping, but no real problems other than that.
So you can relax the next time you use your new enema bag, and when you are relaxed you will find that you achieve a more comfortable and more thorough cleanse.
Best of natural health, Val
