Re: Possible new goal: 1/2 starting weight in two years.
My posts seem to get "lost" here.
mouseclick If you have already read this forgive me. Your jeans changes were very impressive. Well done in tackling your weight. I enjoy day long no-eaters as I call them but NTF suits also as a name. I don't consider that a fast I must admit.
Thanks for your comment concerning my initial fast report. I will follow that up possibly at the end of my fast: 9 days and all fine.
Your commented that you weren't using any water other than that is the veges and occasional tea. May I suggest that perhaps you might consider a little more water . Two reasons and these are both conjecture based on my experience:
A little too much water will cause no harm and may make the transition into fasting easier. Hunger for some can be as much a call for water as it is for food. So keeping water topped up can reduce you food cravings/amount and may make for an easier path to weight loss/fasting. The second conjecture is related: if your water requirement is satisfied by food wouldn't that be your mental image of how to manage thirst? Not sure that idea is good. As I did says "thoughts". This water approach sits well with Dr Fuhrman's "NTF".
The other issue that fascinates, and you are well aware of, is how we figure food and eating in our lives and minds.
Certainly switching a taste based approach appears to be a good step but for me I am looking at how to develop an inner sense of "limit". At this stage the mind is trying to collect as many of the "pleasures of fasting" sensations together and add these to my enjoyment of being light in body and free in stomach which were valuable indicators in the past. What have you used/considered as your mental frame for a limit?
Best of luck and gradual/gradual with the weight loss. Although weight was never an issue for me a good friend, with similar figures to yours, has consistently lost weight over four years. Halving it with diet and water and still on the way down the scales.
Well done "Baggy duds" and all the best.
PS 'Baggy duds" is an Australian colloquial expression meaning your pants are a bit loose.
