Re: poison ivy/oak questions

I get poison ivy rashes every summer at least a couple of times (my cats seem to like rolling in it!). Jewelweed sap helps break down the poison ivy oil. I bought some poison ivy soap with jewel weed from Walgreens a three of summers ago and those 3 little bars worked great until last summer. I couldn't find them at any Walgreens, so I went online and found a site that sells large bars of jewelweed soap. Bought 2. Worked great on all my outbreaks last summer. I've got a rash on my thigh and I'm using the jewel weed on it. Got started a little late, cause it didn't itch much at first (those poison ivy homeopathic pellets must be working) so I had to use the soap a couple of times. But it's working. Before I started using the jewelweed soap, I'd end up in the urgent care getting a scriipt of prednisone because it would spread and weep and wouldn't clear up with the usual home remedies. I even tried the hot water treatment to help with the itching.

This year I'm planting my jewelweed seeds so I'll have a ready supply of the sap.

Here's one site with the soap. http://store.altnature.com/jewelweedsoap.html
