But what about the lisp??!

The thread about the valley girl talk reminded me again about the odd pecularity that I have noticed especially among adults, that they start to lisp when they start talking about something more, hmmm, what would be the right word, uncomfortable or uneasy or may be gossipy?? Ever noticed that? Is there a term for that? Why do people do that? It usually raises my warning flags about the accuracy of what they are sharing with me at that moment......
