computer cookies question

A small site I am a member of requires me to sign in and each time I post it asks me to sign in again. They said it was because my computer didn't accept cookies.

I hardly ever have to sign on here at CZ. Isn't that because my computer DOES accept cookies? Same on other forums, no problem, they always "remember" me. I went to tools, internet optons, security and other tabs, none specifically list cookies on this rather ancient computer laptop. But, I hae the security setting set to allow just about anything even though cookies appear not to be specifically mentioned where I am told to look.

Anyway, the short question is, since CZ recognizes me, I do accept cookies, right? Thanks!!
