Re: Low-carb diet and enemas
In general, my opinion on the latest fad diets is that any of them are fine for a while, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to consider them anything other than a temporary assist to lose some
pounds quickly. In the long term, the only thing that will work is a lifestyle change, smaller portions of food, and cutting way back on junk food snacks.
To be successful requires a lifetime commitment. Once you have reached your optimum weight, then you are free to eat just about anything on occasion, even something like a piece of high calorie cheese cake once or twice a month.
It also helps to engage in high intensity aerobic physical acitivity every other day.
But while you are on a diet like the Atkins for example, I believe that a daily enema is extremely helpful in removing the waste products of such a diet from your system. Afterwards, fiber can help keep you regular, but once you become constipated, fiber can only make it worse. If your colon is blocked, ingesting more fiber contributes to the fullness of the colon, and if it becomes dried out can be difficult to remove.
If that occurs, a professionally administered colonic, or enemas at home, are in my opinion the easiest and most effective way to hydrate the colon and remove the blockage.
If the choice was between being constipated or taking an enema, I'll choose the enema.
