Gloves...Re: Being your own doctor - liver flushing/CE's READ ME PLEASE
You can purchase disposable gloves by the box- they come in boxes sorta like Kleenex boxes and you can pull them out. There are latex ones that EMS-types use around blood borne pathogens,(and some similar to latex for those with a chemical sensitivity to latex). You can get them powdered (easy on off) or non-powdered, in different sizes to fit a man's hand or a lady's, etc. There are also clear plastic "baggie"-like gloves that food handlers use. I personally don't like the way "food handler" gloves feel. They don't handle the lab specimens very well- they aren't as "grippy" as medical exam gloves are. However, they are less expensive than the latex gloves, and do serve the purpose.
You would only need to glove one hand, so you would need an average of three gloves per day.
When you are finished with your exam, you simply take the glove off inside out, so the contaminant never touches your skin. Then you toss the glove into a waste basket with a tight fitting lid, and wash your hands well.
