embedded tick?

hi, my granddaughter is visiting with me, we 'think' she may have an embedded tick on her upper thigh. Does anyone know how to discern this for sure? You know, what to notice? She spends allot of time outdoors. Her dog has had them removed often. She has said that the area with a closed dried scab does itch. What kind of remedy could we use? thank you , momo Tweet
