snakes
we had water masinkins in the yard living close to a creek

and that was no picnic believe me.

birds saved lives by looking hypnotic at a snake.
Gave warning many times a snake was in the midst.
wild birdies saved our lives at least twice.

one night i crossed yard and stepped on one.
felt like an earthquake under my feet.
i don't know which one of us was the scarest.
me or him.

happy day again.
