baby eats kelp + kelp taking tip

I always assumed that my 1 year old would not take kelp because I find it quite repulsive. However a few weeks ago I tried giving her a small amount of kelp (mixed to a paste with water) from a spoon and she ate it. no fuss, no spitting it out, no screwed up faces. Mummy was so proud. She took a little off the spoon 3 times before she had enough. Once or twice a day I started to give her a little kelp from the spoon with some of the Moreless drink** in a sippy cup to wash it down. This was very messy and she would usually end up with molasses stains over everything. Lately I have been mixing the kelp, molasses and lime water into a paste (as I saw suggested by Moreless) which she eats off the spoon, I then let her wash each spoonfull down with water with a little lemon juice and epsom mixed in. This works very well as she tends to take more of the kelp as she likes the taste better and there is so much less mess.

** I have always mixed my moreless drink with molasses, lemon and lime water and taken the kelp mixed to a paste with a little water on the side. If you get the consistancy right, you can use the tip of your tongue to lick it off the spoon and push it to the back of your throat bypassing the taste buds. You then take a swig of the very pleasant drink. It did take some mastering but I haven't 'tasted' the kelp since the early days when I would almost wretch when taking it.
