I had the Merina, too - and also had it removed after awful eczema that covered my body and made it unsightly.

I then tried 3 BC pills which each had it's own delightful side effect - weight gain, short temper with kids, depressed. AWESOME.

No thank you.

I decided to try the copper IUD after my girlfriend told me, "Um - you vomit all pregnancy and then have major adverse reactions to all things hormone related -- how about a non hormone BC?"

So I gave it a shot and almost 7 mos later -- loving it. No side effects and normal periods.

Everyone is different, but I say 'give it a shot. you know it can come out!'
