Thanks for reminding me about no sickness. When I went for my scuba-diving medical last year, I found my previous doctor and his replacement had died, and the surgery had changed address to a smaller building since I last visited them in 1997. The original surgery had been taken over by a vet who needed bigger premises. That same vet got around $600 out of me for treating a cat for hyperthyroidism. The cat died eventually, of cancer.
Not sure what message that gives out, but now my neighbour's cat hangs out with me (or hangs up with me, as you may notice from my Facebook pic).
Bottom line - I'll now treat animals as respectfully as I treat myself. I won't take them to the vet anymore.
