Success Testimonial--Better Garden & Less Insect Damage--
Hi Moreless:
Dropped in to tell you the good news that my garden is doing great this year. Very little insect damage. Usually because I was slow in feeding the soil life with bsm, fish, seaweed, dissolved bonemeal, gypsum and limestone in ACV. Haven't been checking brix, sorry. Whatever time i have has been spent observing, mulching, fertilizing and foliar feeding.
Got an abundance of lettuces, snow peas, and chard and mustards. Romaine lettuce is very sweet. Right now the tomatoes and beans and squash and peppers have fruit maturing on them. Squash leaves are HUGE. Herbs are thriving.
I foliar feed every day in the morning or evenings. When it rains, I feed them twice a day with Very dilute solution of seaweed, bsm, dissolved bonemeal, gypsum and limestone in ACV. sometimes ammonium hydroxide. No foliar burning this year from this mix.
This year decided to mulch with commercial mulch because I had so many problems with insects last year from yard grass and leaves and i am not raising 12 brix plants yet, except for squash. So I spent the money on the commercial mulch that has been broken down quite a bit with manure added(nitrogen stabilized). They cost 2.65 a bag, some broken bags at half off. Boy did the soil life and my plants love it. Could see them taking off the next day. I also topdressed with more bonemeal, gypsum, and limestone. will try to add granite when I have time. Thanks ML for all the past tips.
