I am afraid their are several things wrong in Jim Humbles book and those are two examples.
He has just not understood the chemistry.
Not that Miracle-Mineral-Supplement doesn't work but it doesn't contribute in any significant way to hypochlorous acid formation which requires chloride of which the body already has an abundant source, and I don't know where he gets the idea it neutralizes acid toxins specifically.
Also he has now admitted on his site ClO2 lasts only two hours
