glyconutrients and glycosilation
Hello
The glyconutrients case is of great importance to me.
You see my 7 1/2 year old son is suffering from a form of muscular dystrophy called a-dystroglycanopathy.
It means that a-dystroglycan protein can't bind to the other proteins in the muscle cell resulting to a corrupted muscle system.
To work properly, this protein has to make a process called glycosilation-which now it cannot do.
Alpha-dystroglycan, the protein that is abnormally glycosylated in these disorders has a mannose, galactose, N-acetylgalactosamine and neuraminic acid attached to it
Yes,half of the ingredients these glyconutrients are supposed to contain.
Of course I would like to give glycos a chance(a chance of life maybe)but all this reading in several forums has brought to me a confusion, like it did to many other people I guess,on which product or hand made recipe should I try starting with.
My English can't help me dig deep into the scientific literature so I don't know if I should buy all of the eight sugars or just the sugars needed for my son's case.
In addition I am not sure if the quantity of the sugars in these natural supplements is enough to do their job or should I buy their chemical correspondings.
Any info and help will be greatly appreciated.
My best
Antonis
