I've suffered from Depression for six years now, on and off. I've just been diagnosed with pernicious anemia which is caused by a deficency in B12. This can supposedly affect your nerves and cause/aid depression. I've had my first B12 injection and have been told I will need to have one a month for the first 3 months and then every 3 months for the rest of my life. I'm only 24 so these seems a bit drastic. Also, they didn't know what caused it and said 'it may be hereditary'.
-Does anyone know how I might find out?
-Are there any ways for me to treat this without the injections?
-What effects will I see from them over the coming months? I'm hoping a lift in my mood and make my less jumpy and anxious.
